Vincent LaMarca (Robert De Niro) is a veteran street cop, whose father was executed for murder after a child that he kidnapped was killed. Vincent has to live with this hanging over his own reputation and history starts to repeat itself when his own son Joey LaMarca (James Franco), a junkie, gets wrapped up in a drug-related killing.
